Feeling well again

Everyone seems to be recovered from our week of illness last week. Emmy had micro plasm pneumonia and bronchitis, Jori an ear infection and I was just sick. I am probably the only one left with some congestion, and somehow Jim never got it, amazing.

We started a new project over here, as if there were not enough going on, Jori finally is getting her room redecorated, very long overdue, she still had the original paint and wallpaper that was here when we moved in. We told her she could have any color she wanted, so she picked........flourescent green for the walls and bright blue for the ceiling. So far the walls are painted and the ceiling can be painted tomorrow. She also got to pick out brand new bedding, she did a great job with all her picks. Will post pictures when it is completed.

Jim decided today that he is now feeling great and wants to start running marathons, yup the same guy that had a heart attack 3 months ago, slow down...................do you know how long a marathon is????

God's Blessings on your week.......

What a miserable day at the Ruff house

Guest blogger today, Emmy Ruff age 10

I lost my tooth today. We are all sick, except Daddy. Jor has an ear infection and cold, I have pneumonia and bronchitis. Momma is sick like me. last night I almost lost my tooth but my tooth turned sideways and got stuck and we couldn't fix it. On top of that Jori would sleep for five minutes and then start screaming because her ear hurt her. I got my tooth out this morning and then we went to doc's office.

Organizing

I am spending the day organizing the schoolroom. I have emptied out every drawer, shelf etc, moved things around, recycled, and thrown away. I guess the only way to keep it clean is to not use it, and you all know we use this room constantly. The girls have decided it is the best room to play, Legos and blocks wind up all over the room. I found a lot of stray Legos today, we have been studying Ancient Egypt, there has been lots of pyramid building with Legos almost everyday for the last few weeks.
We are winding up our 5 week study of Ancient Egypt and will start Ancient Greece this week. I decided this year to follow our co-op history schedule instead of doing two different time periods at a time as we have in the past. We are all enjoying it.
Science this year is Apologia Astronomy, they are studying it in co-op and we are working on it at home.
Latin is going great for both Emmy and Jori. Jori asked to start French this year as well, she loves it, Em wasn't interested in French, I'm not concerned, she will pick it up from listening to Jori and I practice. Jori spends a lot of time listening to French stories being read aloud and loves it.
Jori also spends a lot of time reading aloud to Eowyn, works great, Jori gets her reading time in and Eowyn gets read to, and Mom gets a break for a few minutes. Win win for everyone.
Em is plugging right along and should finish up her 5th grade curriculum this winter, so on to 6th grade we will go.

Blessing for a wonderful relaxing weekend.

Sorry blog fans

It's been weeks since we have posted, I'm so sorry, the time has just gotten away from me. We started school with our new student Eowyn, we call her Wei, she is so sweet, she just turned 6 so I am doing kindergarten with her, 2nd/3rd grade with Joriann and 5th/6th grade with Em. Busy busy busy, co-op also started, I am helping with the high schoolers teaching Biology. Everything is going well, I'm working a bit too much, but it's all good, soccer season is winding down with only 2 games left, both girls absolutely love it and want to continue, no problem! Em is reciting her Latin to me so I will close now.

God's blessings on your day......
